My name is Gary Abernathy. I am a husband, father of 2, a son and a brother. I’ve been quite a few things in my adult life, but when it all settles out to what I do, I’m a freelance writer and I’m a drummer. I’ve had satisfying personal success in both areas, but I consider these things gifts on loan from my creator, and for many years now I use them in service to Him.

As a writer, I’ve been honored to provide content for the wonderful non-profit website, All Pro Dad. This is something I’ve done on a mostly anonymous basis for well over 5 years writing hundreds of articles. That work continues to inspire me and provide a platform where God can reach millions of readers. In this blog however, my hope is that the Lord will allow this space to pour out his word and will through me to reach those seeking all over this planet.

Mark 4:20 is a verse from the gospel that has greatly affected my life. It is the inspiration for a daily prayer I ask to be made good soil for his word to be sown. Jesus speaks, “Others, like seed sown on good soil, hear the word, accept it, and produce a crop – some thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times what was sown.” This is my prayer and intent for this blog.
